Abandoned.
I was shot out of a cannon into a Camaro being driven by Satan. His suit was black tailored Armani and pinky adorned by a ruby ring. Satan’s backseat bore a conservative pile of plastic containers; an evidence of his preference for the freshness of Wendy’s salads. Satan was smoking Pall Malls and offered me the open end of the pack. I took it, extracting one, to the tip of which he...

Fragment in progress.
An Inventory: The Litany of Loneliness, Pop Culture Edition   It’s late for a weeknight and the lovesong I most relate to is that Talking Heads one about being a billboard in love with a highway I’ve been drinking rye and ginger which feels fancy but it’s from the plastic Spongebob cup I use for everything. There’s Star Trek on my laptop and no one to watch it with while I admire the mock...

I propose . . .
… that we define the powernap thusly: in-your-day-clothes, shoes-on, in a well-lit room, prone on any surface ranging from the pokey to the merely uncomfortable.

I have been . . .
… asked to explain my previous link, DINOSAUR LOVE IS FOR EVERYONE. I do this thing I call emo-caching where I’ll type a phrase into Google Maps then link the resulting page, which shows up as a link of the phrase. And since it’s relative to location, it’ll show up as a different map when different people open it. It’s how I work with/against social media. Peace.

Hello my enter button is broken and I’m just typing blind. I think Tom Petty is overrated and not enough people know the deep cuts of Neil Young’s catalogue. I’m guilty of squandering my time like crazy but it’s like I let my unconscious do all the work for me so I can dip into it later take what I need. I’ve been sick intermittently for a few weeks and it’s...

Audreys Books: American Books at American Prices! →
audreysbooks: In 2007, the parity of the US dollar and the Canadian dollar meant that Canadians were paying far too much for their books. So we simply did the fair thing - American books were sold at the American price. It was a sensation in the Canadian book industry and our customers responded fervently….

Something else cannibalized from real life.
Observations and Lingering Effects of Being At The Art Show With You Someday, something in this air will carry me away. Right now, I’ve got my hand cupped around the flame as I’m trying to light my pipe in this wind. I’m  measuring my distance against parking meters and streetlights and I’m thinking about our time at the art show last night with all the cocks on the walls and your friend in the...

The Grand Work of Proper Placement     Language not urged and crammed with love is nothing. Hayden Carruth  Some life ago, I could drive a forklift pretty good; grab the pallets quick and speed out safe around the folks on the docks.  Now look at me, pushing words around with no mind of a clue of what I’ll say next, or for whom it may matter if I do this at all.  Maybe there’s some overwhelming...

Bookstores closing down is a nightmare. The fact it’s happening in a so-called rational and democratic society makes me want to build a shack on an island and tell all of everyone to fuck off.
